From Fr. Sunil…

December 21, 2020
Our hearts are heavy as we begin to process the loss of our beloved Pastor, Msgr. Walter. But we must remember what Msgr always taught us: God will never leave our side. He has not abandoned our Parish Family. And we take comfort in the story Msgr. always told:
“When I was in school, the Sisters of Mercy told us that someday all of us will be called Home. The Sisters asked us to dream of what heaven was like. And they told us, even our wildest dreams can’t compare to what God will give us. Death is a stinging thing, no doubt. When we lose someone we love, it’s tough. Yet we must never lose sight: they are with our God. So we must always celebrate the one who left us, who shaped us in their loving ways, and make sure we follow their example.”
Msgr. loved life. He built this Church with his love, his leadership, and his joy. He was our spiritual father – a visible sign of just how our loving Father is. And today he knows the Face of God, and what heaven is like.

While we regret that we cannot all come together in person as a Parish Family for the funeral Mass due to COVID-19 restrictions, we can all pay our final respects to Msgr. in person at the Wake on Monday. In the future, a Memorial Mass will be held so that everyone can attend.

We pray with gratitude to the Lord for placing Msgr. in our lives. We pray in confidence of God’s hope of eternal life.
Msgr, we love you, we miss you, and you will be in our hearts forever. Rest in peace.
